Reps dispatch invitation to Diezani over oil swap contracts

Despite her reported illness, the House of Representatives Committee on Crude Oil Swap, Monday, said former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke must appear before it on the 2nd of March.

The House committee is inviting the former minister, who is reportedly battling cancer in United Kingdom, in connection with the $24bn crude oil swap contracts.

According to reports, the committee dispatched the letter of invitation to Diezani on Monday, February 22.

It will be recalled that the former minister had been in London, United Kingdom since the inception of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. Her name has also been variously mentioned in connection with different allegations of corruption but she is yet to be invited by the nation’s anti-corruption agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
