Security agencies raid, ransack ex-AGF Adoke’s home again

The Kogi home of former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke (SAN), has been raided again by Nigerian security agencies in search of cash and other unidentified documents.

The security men, who were from Force Headquarters, Abuja, were said to have arrived the home armed to the teeth and laid siege to the house in Okene for about one hour.

It was also learnt that the security men after ransacking the duplex, including the former AGF’s bedroom, wife’s bedroom, the roof and the toilets failed to find anything incriminating in the house.

Narrating what transpired, a younger brother to Adoke, Mr. Abdul Adoke said, “The policemen presented a search warrant obtained from the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Gudu in Abuja. Their leader identified himself as a police officer from the Force Headquarters, Abuja but he refused to disclose his identity.

“We cooperated with them and at the end of the day, nothing was found. They wrote a report declaring that the duplex was free of any incriminating documents. I and four others also signed the report too.”

The home of the former minister was also on April raided by security men. In May also, Adoke had raised an alarm claiming that his life was in danger following security men’s raid on his brother, Bashir’s house in Kogi State.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) accused Adoke of being part of an alleged $1 billion Malabu Oil deal scam.

But the minister, who has been out of the country claimed that the EFCC charges were irrational; he however said he would make himself available to put up a defense against the charges at the appropriate time.

According to Adoke, his involvement in the auctioning of the Oil Prospecting Licence 245(OPL 245) otherwise known as Malabu Oil Block, was legal and done on the approval of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
