Ahead of the Nations Cup qualifier against Seychelles, former Super Eagles star, Victor Agali, has warned that anything short of winning may spell doom for Nigeria.

The Eagles lost their first match in the qualifying series 2-0 against South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo last year.

They look to boost their chances of qualifying for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations when they face Seychelles this Saturday, September 8th in Victoria.

Having missed qualification for the past two editions of the continental competition, much is expected from the national team, and Agali believes the current Eagles have the quality to succeed.

Speaking to Complete Sports, the former forward said: “The game against Seychelles is a must win game for the Super Eagles especially if you take into cognisance the fact that they lost to South Africa last year.

“Anything short of a win against Seychelles may spell doom for the team and we don’t pray for that.

“I believe it is a game that the Super Eagles can win based on the quality of players in the team, but at the same time they must not underrate their opponent.

“We must work hard to be at the next AFCON and winning this game will put us on the right track.”
