Spain extradites 94 Taiwanese to China over phone scam charges

Spain has extradited 94 Taiwanese to China to face telephone and online fraud charges, following protest from Taiwan’s government.

The suspects who arrived Friday morning at Beijing airport on a chartered flight were escorted by uniformed officers, CNN reports.

The extraditions are the latest stemming from a 2016 investigation into Spain-based scam operations that targeted victims in China.
