Politicians hunted by EFCC can’t escape by joining APC, Oyegun declares

The spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bolaji Abdullahi, on Thursday announced the postponement of the party National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled to hold April 24 and 25 respectively due to “unexpected developments.”

He said that the new dates for the meetings will be communicated in due course.

Since the NEC meeting the APC had on July 3, 2015, less than two months it assumed power, the party is yet to have another NEC meeting.

Speculations are ripe that the crisis the party leadership has had to contend with, formed part of the reason APC is yet to hold another NEC meeting.

Some of the party leaders like Senator Bola Tinubu, its suspended secretary, Timi Frank, have insisted that the party national chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, should resign.

Following the postponement of the National Caucus and NEC meetings of the party which ordinarily should have formed a preparatory meeting to its national convention, it is likely that the party may not hold its mid-term non-elective national convention billed to take place on April 29, 2017 in Abuja.
