U-17: Eaglets battle Australia for quarterfinal ticket

The Golden Eaglets has been drawn against Australia in the second round of the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile.

The Emmanuel Amuneke led team will battle the Aussies on Wednesday, October 28 at the Estadio Sausalito in Vina Del Mar, Chile for a place in the quarterfinal stage of the competition.

Other matches billed for Wednesday include Brazil tackling New Zealand at Estadio Sausalisto, Vina Del Mar as Mexico confront Chile at Estadio Nelson Oyarzun Arenas while Korea Republic play Belgium at Estadio La Portada La Serena.

Nigeria qualified for the second round from Group A alongside Croatia and Chile, just as in Group B, Korea Republic picked the ticket alongside , Brazil and England.

Mexico topped the Group C, qualifying alongside Germany and Australia while Mali, Belgium and Ecuador qualified from Group B.

Russia, Costa Rica and Korea DPR qualified from Group E while France, New Zealand and Paraguay picked the Group F tickets.

Similarly, Croatia will battle Germany while Mali trade tackle Korea DPR in the second set of matches in the Round of 16 billed for Thursday, October 29.

Other matches are Russia vs Ecuador and France vs Costa Rica.

All the winners of the second round matches will qualify for the quarterfinal stage of the competition.
