UK Police reveals how Russian spy was poisoned by nerve-agent at his door

British counter-terrorism police has revealed that ex-Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were both poisoned with a nerve toxin that had been left on the front door of their home in England.

“We believe the Skripals first came into contact with the nerve agent from their front door,” said Dean Haydon, Britain’s’ senior national coordinator for counter terrorism policing.

“Specialists have identified the highest concentration of the nerve agent, to-date, as being on the front door of the address,” Scotland Yard said in a statement.

The incident has sparked a festering diplomatic row between the West and Russia with US expelling over 60 Russian diplomats days after Poland, Lithuania and Latvia recalled their envoys from Moscow over the poisoning of the former spy.

The White House in a statement said the decision to close the Russian consulate in Seattle was taken to back its closest ally (Britain) and the announcement came as the EU confirmed that 16 countries under its umbrella have announced that they will expel 31 Russian diplomats.
