12 injured as Paris workers protests turns bloody

Clashes between police and protesters opposing a new labour law in the French capital of Paris turned bloody as 12 demonstrators were injured in latest outbreak of violence.

According to reports, tens of thousands protesters turned out nationwide in protests against the so-called Loi travail law that aims to make it easier for companies to increase working hours beyond the current 35-hour working week and also facilitate company lay-off.

The affair turned bloody when four demonstrators and eight police were injured in clashes as protesters hurled molotov cocktails and police fired tear gas and stun grenades.

Fifteen protesters were arrested in the demonstration which turned out to be the 14th in six months against the controversial legislation.
