2 weeks after, police say they’re still trying to track abductors of Siasia’s mother

Kidnappers contact Siasia, demand N70m in exchange for his mother

14 days after her abduction, the whereabouts of Beauty Ogere, the mother of a former Coach and skipper of the Super Eagles, Samson Siasia, remains unknown.

However, the Bayelsa State Police Command has assured that its personnel are working round the clock to ensure that the she is rescued from her captors.

SP Asinim Butswat, the spokesperson of the command made this known on Sunday.

79-year-old Beauty Siasia was kidnapped on July 15 with two others by yet-to-be-identified gunmen in Odoni community, Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa.

Others who were kidnapped have been identified as Mrs Florence Douanana, 65, and her daughter, Selekire Douanana, 17.

Two days after the incident, the kidnappers established contact with Siasia’s family and demanded N70m to set the victims free.

Siasia was reported to have begged the kidnappers to set his aged mother free unconditionally, saying he was out of a job and had no such money to pay them.

The police spokesman has nonetheless said the command is on top of the case, stressing that investigation is ongoing to enable the victims regain freedom.

“Yes, investigation is ongoing to rescue the victims,” he stated.
