2019: Why Saraki is not fit to contest —APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken its war against President of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki to another level, listing his alleged sins as reasons he is not fit to contest for the nation’s presidency.

The party, in a statement issued by its acting National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, was reacting to news that the Senate President is considering contesting for the presidency in 2019 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where he defected to recently.

It would be recalled that Saraki had granted Bloomberg an interview saying he has been consulting and considering contesting for the presidency.

According to the APC spokesman, Saraki’s declaration is the reason the party has been calling on anti-graft agencies to stop people with looted funds from financing elections with stolen money.

The statement reads: “Saraki’s declaration brings to the fore our earlier call to anti-graft agencies to check the use of stolen public funds to finance elections in this country.

‘’We reiterate our position that the Nigerian electorate must have the opportunity to choose from candidates that can pass the integrity and anti-corruption test.
