Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, Wednesday, appealed to Justice Abdul Kafarati to go on with his case and deliver judgment, and not let his (Saraki’s) enemies blackmail him into dumping the case.

Justice Kafarati of the Federal High Court, Abuja, had stepped down from the fundamental human rights enforcement suit the embattled Senate President brought before him challenging his trial before the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT.

The judge hinged his decision of reports on some online mediums that he had been bribed by Saraki to the tune of N2 billion.

Saraki, in a protest letter to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta, said he was dissatisfied that the judge was blackmailed by his enemies to hands off the suit that was ripe for judgment.

The protest letter, dated March 22 and filed through his lawyer, Prince Ajibola Oluyede, Saraki said that though he had sympathy for the judge, the interest of justice would only be served if the judgement was delivered.

While also speaking with newsmen, on the letter, Oluyede, accused the EFCC of being the brain behind the publications which he said were intended to intimidate the judge.

The EFCC has however denied any involvement in the decision of Justice Kafarati to step down from the case.

Spokesman of the anti-graft agency, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, insisted Wednesday night that the commission had no idea of the source of the information, and that it did not emanate form the agency.
