A Ripples Nigeria reader has bagged N25,000.00 for correctly predicting the two teams that would make it to the final of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The winner, Mr. Popoola Sodiq, predicted three weeks ago that The Teranga Lions of Senegal will battle Algeria in the final of the Egypt tournament, and he was right.

Ripples Nigeria had called for predictions in a post – AFCON 2019: Which 2 teams will emerge finalists in Egypt? Predict and Win cash – published on Sunday, June 23, 2019, which got over 110 entries.

Over 110 predictions were made.

Mr. Sodiq was one of only two persons who sent in correct predictions, but the other person sent in their prediction on a later date, hence Sodiq was picked as winner.

The winner’s prediction

At the time of this publication, Sodiq, who resides in Osogbo in Osun State, already received his prize and expressed his excitement over a text message.

“I’m fully overjoyed when I saw your message.. indeed I’m very fortunate, and lucky. This stresses the agency of chance in bringing a favorable result as I predicted. It is a miracle that I didn’t expect. Thank you RIPPLES NIGERIA,” an elated Sodiq wrote via WhatsApp.

Meanwhile, the final of the 2019 AFCON will be played today (Friday) in Cairo by 8:00p.m Nigeria time.
