AFCON QUALIFIER: Rohr invites Zamalek's Maarouf Yussuf

In a fresh list of invited players for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa, Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, included Maarouf Yussuf who plays for Egyptian side, Zamalek.

The 24-year-old, who is predominantly a defensive midfielder but have played as a left full back for over a season, was called up by Rohr to help ease the left full back challenge that the team currently face.

Monaco’s Elderson Echiejile, who has been first choice left back, will now be joined by the left-footed player who made 27 appearances and scored three goals for Zamalek this season.

However, on the list which was announced on Wednesday by the Nigeria Football Federation, Chelsea’s Victor Moses and China-based Odion Ighalo and Brown Ideye, as well as MFM FC duo Stephen Odey and Sikiru Olatunbosun were dropped.
