Aiteo Cup: Enugu Rangers edge Kano Pillars to win 6th title

Enugu Rangers pulled off an incredible comeback victory as they rallied back from three goals down to win a sixth Aiteo Federation Cup title against Kano Pillars on Wednesday.

The clash which held at the Stephen Keshi Stadium is Asaba saw the Flying Eagles win 4-2 on penalties, to claim their first title since 1983 and the first under head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote.

Pillars took the lead in the fifth minute through Rabiu Ali who unleashed a powerful into the net from outside the box.

Alhassan Ibrahim doubled Pillars lead in the 20th minute nodding home from a corner, before the third goal came through Nyima Nwagua three minutes after the break.

But Kelvin Itoya pulled a goal back for Rangers in the 77th minute with a stunning shot that beat David Obiozor.

Chidera Ezeh made it 3-2 whenhe tapped home the second goal from close range eight minutes from time, before substitute Ajani Ibrahim completed the comeback with a cool finish one minutes into added time.

Penalty shoot-out was needed to separate both teams at the end of regulation with Rangers edging the contest 4-2.
