Former Bayelsa State governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha was on a life support before he passed on last Saturday at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH), Rivers State.
A family source confided the hospital removed the life support after it could no longer sustain the late former governor.
“He was on a life support but it was later discovered that the machine could no longer sustain him.
“I was there when it was removed. He was then certified dead”, he said.

He said the family members of the deceased decided to stay back at their Port Harcourt home, Rivers State, following the circumstances that led to his death.
The source further confirmed that the wife of the deceased and children were expected to relocate to their house in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.
“They will be receiving guests and sympathisers at their Yenagoa home temporarily after which they will go to their community home in Amasomma, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area,” he said.
