Anambra guber election to hold Nov 18 –INEC
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the governorship election for Anambra State will be held on November 18, 2017.
The electoral umpire made this known in a tweet on its Twitter handle @inecnigeria, on Thursday with the simple message “Anambra State Governorship Election is scheduled to hold on 18th November, 2017 as approved by the Commission”.
With the announcement, political parties will now deepen their maneuvers, and plots to clinch the coveted seat of governor of the state.
Recall that the race to succeed the incumbent Governor Willie Obiano of the People Democratic Party (PDP) had sparked a quarrel between him and the governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Both men had engaged themselves in verbal spates, throwing abuses at each other, until prominent elders and groups in the region prevailed on them to sheath their swords.
