A polio eradication centre in Pakistan has been hit by a deadly blast after a suicide bomber detonated explosives following an anti-polio campaign. The blast took place in the western city of Quetta killing at least 14 people and wounding 20 others according to local authorities.

Sources say the bomb destroyed a police van at the centre which was stationed to serve as an escort for vaccination personnel engaged in the campaign drive to immunise children under the age of five in the province of Balochistan.
