ATIKU: APC sustains attack on Obasanjo, questions his integrity

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it would have won governorship elections in Bauchi, Sokoto and Adamawa states but for riggings.

The party has, therefore, vowed it will challenge the outcome of the elections in those states in court in order to reclaim its supposed mandates in the three states.

APC deputy national publicity secretary, Yekini Nabena, stated this when he spoke with newsmen in Abuja.

Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeated APC in the mentioned states to claim the governorship positions.

Apart from Sokoto where APC lost to an incumbent governor, Aminu Tambuwal, in Adamawa and Bauchi states, APC candidates were incumbent governors but they lost their re-election bids.

But Nabena said, “Following a review of the governorship re-run election in Bauchi, Sokoto and Adamawa states, it is evident that massive rigging, thuggery and vote-buying characterised the exercise.

“It should be noted that while the APC has over two third of the members of the State House of Assembly in Bauchi and a clear majority in Sokoto State from the governorship elections, the re-run was rigged and was conducted without regards to laid down rules and regulations of INEC.

“To this end, the outcome of these reruns will be challenged at the election tribunals to reclaim our mandates in those states.”
