APC CRISIS: After meeting with govs, Buhari meets Oshiomhole, APC state chairmen

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday met behind closed- door with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole and the 36 state chairmen of the party and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The meeting started at about 12:00 p.m. at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting may not be unconnected with the crisis rocking the Edo State chapter of the APC occasioned by the rift between Governor Godwin Obaseki and Oshiomhole over control of party machinery in the state and salient issues in the ruling party.

There have been several calls from some state chapters and groups within the party for the removal of Oshiomhole as national chairman of the party.

Oshiomhole arrived at the Presidential Villa at 11:30 a.m., and headed straight to the Council Chambers venue of the meeting.

The President also had a closed-door meeting with the APC governors on Thursday.
