BIAFRA: Kanu gathers support, visits Ekwueme, others

Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Leader Nnamdi Kanu on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to former Vice President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme.

Kanu, who said his visit, was to get the elders’ blessing as well as to inform him of reasons his group are demanding for Biafra independence from Nigeria, assured Ekwueme that he was going to do anything he wants him to do “so far as it advances our political course as a people”.

He said, “I have come to tell you that we find you invaluable in our advancement of our people and in our course also to make life better for the public and for the masses. So, I am humbled and delighted to be here and also to bring you up to speed as to what we have been doing, what motivated me; what motivated the IPOB to do what we have been doing.

“It is more or less today an expression, a political expression to the yearnings and aspirations of the society; that’s what we are trying to do. The sum total of the struggle by the IPOB, which I’m leading is to ensure that there is dignity of life.

“And for us to fulfil that very mandate, we must be diligent, we must be focused, we must be sincere. So, I have come here to brief my father as to why we‎ do what we do and to get his blessings; anything he tells me is what we are going to do, in so far as it advances our political course as a people.”

In his response, Ekwueme appreciated the IPOB leader’s visit and expressed joy that he was released after all his travails.

The statesman stressed, “I thank God that he is free and able to move around. I will make my best counsel available to him in his very onerous task of leading an organisation that is committed to bringing justice and equity among people, especially for our people.”

Earlier on Monday Kanu had visited the Eastern Consultative Assembly (ECA), which Ekwueme, is a patron to.

He had before that time met with Igbo Senate Caucus in Abuja, who played a major role to ensure he was released despite seeming impossible condition Justice Binta Nyako of the Abuja Federal High Court gave for his release.

Why are you so angry? What use USB the Nigerian government to you? What are you benefiting from the useless system? Biafra is where we belong and we must all fight to get what’s ours. Don’t stay there to condemn Kanu, join hands with him to fight for what belongs to you.

I knew Kanu’s bail was going to bring about more problems, we’ve not seen anything yet, Kanu is desperate and ready to do whatever it takes to break Nigeria’s unity. The man should be returned to jail and sentenced to death

I see reason why buhari was adamant to grant the malefactor called kanu bail then, his release might ravage the peace of the country if not careful

Ekwueme is a useless shameless old man, someone who ought to scold the silly Kanu for disrupting the peace of the nation, he is posing and taking selfie with him.
