BRAKING: 245 new cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria as total hits 2802

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Monday night confirmed 245 new cases of COVID-19 in the country.

The centre said in its daily update on the pandemic situation in Nigeria via its Twitter handle that the latest discoveries had increased the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 2,802.

Sadly, the death toll had also increased from 87 to 93 in the last 24 hours.

Also, the number of patients that had recovered from the disease and discharged from the isolation centres shot up from 400 to 417 during the same period.

The breakdown of the latest COVID-19 figure on state-by-state is as follows: Lagos (76), Katsina (37), Jigawa (32), Kano (23), FCT (19), Borno (18), Edo (10), Bauchi (9) and Adamawa (6).

Others are – Oyo (5), Ogun (5), Ekiti (1), Osun (1), Benue (1), Niger (1) and Zamfara (1).

The NCDC said: “2802 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria.

“Discharged: 417 AND Deaths: 93.”
