CAF picks two Nigerian referees for 2018 Women’s AFCON

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has picked 32 officials for the forthcoming 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AFCON), including Nigeria’s Madu Patience and Mimisen Iyorhe.

The continental football house released with a mention that the 16 referees and 16 assistant referees will embark on a preparatory course to fine-tune their readiness for the tournament.

The championship is billed to hold in Ghana and to last between November 17 to December 1st.

Meanwhile, the preparatory course, in which the participants would go through medical screening and theoretical and physical drills, is scheduled for October 17-21, 2018 in Cape Coast, Ghana.

They will also undergo a theory part, involving technical and tactical analysis of the game, reviewing of video clips of matches plus a special session on integrity and match manipulation.

The five-day training will be supervised by CAF Instructors Lim Kee Chong (Mauritius), Hadqa Yahya (Morocco), Lawson Hogban Latre-Kayi (Togo), Mademba Mbacke (Senegal) and Marwa Hannachi (Tunisia).
