Commuters scamper for safety after petrol tanker spills contents

Scores of commuters and motorists around the Berliet bus stop along Oshodi Apapa expressway scampered for safety after a petrol tanker spilled its contents.

Panic pervaded the air following the incident as scared drivers and passers-by ran for their lives fearing the tanker may explode after it started leaking fuel but thankfully it did not.

According to an eyewitness; “People ran for safety as any spark could have meant the end of many lives and the destruction of property worth several millions of naira’’.

The incident caused heavy traffic along the road as motorists sought alternative routes to their various destinations.
