Computer Guild berates Minister over Buhari’s campaign cap

The Computer Guild of Nigeria (CGN) has berated the Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu over his distribution of campaign caps calling for support for President Muhammadu Buhari towards the 2019 general election.

The group lamented that Shittu chose to distribute the caps at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting where they were to discuss crucial national issues.

Shittu had reportedly brought in bags of campaign caps to the last FEC meeting, ostensibly to be shared among ministers.

Although the caps were reportedly put aside during the FEC meeting, Shittu went ahead to wear his during the course of the meeting.

CGN in a statement on Tuesday, signed by the National President of the Guild, Mr. Wole Adedoyin during the guild’s January meeting in Lagos, described Shittu’s behavior as unethical and unpatriotic.

“Barrister Shittu should have his head examined. His unruly behavior during the FEC meeting shows how he handles the ministry”.

“We have said it many times that Barr. Shittu is not competent and efficient to handle the ministry.

“The Minister should be given another portfolio. Ministry of Communication is a wrong place for him to be. We are begging President Muhammadu Buhari to please put him where he belongs before the worst occurs”, Adedoyin concluded.
