The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has received a petition from a contractor, Lewis Ihama, who claimed to have worked for the Living Faith Church, aka Winners Chapel, demanding the arrest of three pastors of the church.

Ihama who claimed that his company was in charge of building the worship auditorium of the church located at Ozuoba community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, said that he is yet to receive the balance of the payment agreed for erecting the building.

The contractor also said that he found it disturbing that the pastors (names withheld) who were found culpable after the Rivers State Police Command had carried out investigation, had still not been arrested by security operatives for duping him.

His petition read in part; “The church, when they wanted to build the auditorium, awarded the contract to me and the pastors told me that they had agreed with the church management to pay N120 million.

“I have almost completed the work, having concluded the roofing. They have only paid me N49 million and now, they are assaulting and harassing me. They also arrested me unlawfully and are threatening to kill me.”

Lamenting the delay in bringing the three pastors to book, Ihama appealled to the IGP and the State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Zaki, to direct the investigative team to arrest and arraign the clerics.

The church is richer than owing outstanding bill, the pastors involved must have spent the money for the construction.

I wonder too. Their general overseer is super rich, the money is too small than to subject his church to public disgrace, but the pastors under him are just thieves

The pastors are criminals and they should be treated as such. There’s no dignity in being a pastor and spending money that doesn’t belong to you. They should all be arrested for questioning

Corruption is everywhere in Nigeria, even the pastors are guilty of it. Those pastors must have been doing it for a long time, they should be held properly and make sure they vomit the contractor’s money

i am not a member of this church and am not defending anybody but from the response here its like people are just waiting to hear something negative about this church or their pastors, why the hasty conclusion and name calling without hearing from the pastors. do you know if the contractor did a substandard job or if he went contrary to their agreement. its not about who reported or cried out first, have you not met a situation were some one was wrong and he is still the one crying foul. pls friends get details before you conclude.
