Gbajabiamila speaks on why Nigeria must remain one

The summons issued by an Area Court in Karshi, Abuja asking an aspirant to the office of Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, to appear before it on June 10, 2019, has been struck out by an FCT High Court.

The presiding judge, Justice Othman Musa, in an ex parte application, also ordered the Area Court to stay action in whatsoever manner on any case involving the All Progressive Congress (APC) speakership aspirant.

In addition, Justice Othman Musa also ordered the Area Court judge, Anas Isah Mohammed, to transmit a certified record of proceedings of the lower court within seven days and also adjourned to June 20 for further hearing.

The order by the FCT High Court follows an application by the leader of the House of Representatives against the African Peoples Party (APP) and the Area Court judge, Anas Isah Mohammed, challenging the criminal charge against Gbajabiamila on account of alleged fraud conviction in the USA.

Gbajabiamila had earlier denied claims of criminal allegations against him after the the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) on Tuesday showed documented evidence that Gbajabiamila was convicted by the supreme court of the State of Georgia in the United State of America, USA over criminal offences.

It also stated that it has, through the Action Peoples Party, commenced criminal proceedings against Gbajabiamila before Grade 1 Area Court of the Federal Capital Territory sitting in Karshi.

However, the Director-General of the Gbajabiamila campaign council, Hon. Abdulmumuni Jubrin, while speaking at a press conference in Abuja Wednesday, insisted that his principal has never been found culpable by any legal authority anywhere in the world.
