DELTA: Suspected pirates kill mother, son

Tragedy struck at a fishing camp along Ekologbene creek of Ayakoromo community, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, when a woman and her son were shot dead by men suspected to be pirates.

According to reports, the bandits, who came in a 200-horsepower speedboat attacked the pair who were preparing to embark on an evening fishing expedition, pointing a gun to the head of the woman, barking at her to hand over money she had on her.

However, her son didn’t like the way she was being handled by the hoodlums and decided to engage them in a brawl but that only angered the bandits who reportedly shot the woman identified as Mrs. Anetorofa Morkor and her son, Doutimi Asaba to death and threw their bodies in the river.
