Djokovic, coach Agassi already 'clicked' after first day

Tennis star Novak Djokovic claims he and his new coach Andre Agassi have already clicked after only working together face-to-face for one day.

The world No. 2 parted ways with his entire coaching staff some weeks ago, and announced after his final defeat to Alexander Zverev at the Italian Open that he was joining forces with the eight-time Grand Slam champion.

Ahead of the French Open, Djokovic has met with his new coach and is delighted at the relationship they’ve already been able to build.

“Yesterday was the first day. Even though it was the first time, it felt like we’d been together a very long time. We clicked,” he said.

“In the last six months I’ve been struggling on the court – I’ve been trying to rediscover myself. My team and I decided we needed a change.

“I feel much better on court – I played a great week in Rome. I was talking to Andre during Madrid and Rome on the phone.

“He was analysing the matches and it allowed us to get to know each other better. I’m glad he’ll be here in Paris.”

Djokovic also mentioned that Agassi inspires him a lot, and expects that their new relationship will bring him success on the pitch.
