In from Olumide Olaoluwa …
Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has condemned the alleged invasion of the Akwa Ibom State Government House, Uyo by the special squad of the Department of State Services (DSS).
He lamented how the presidential wing of the Akwa Ibom Government House was ransacked in a “commando-like manner” with the occupants harassed and intimidated.
The governor said the claim that the security operatives were looking for bombs was unacceptable.
The DSS men, he said, ought to look for bomb in the Northeast ravaged by Boko Haram insurgency.
Also, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has raised the alarm that the DSS are planning to kidnap the Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Udom Emmanuel.
The party said what was happening now under the leadership of Lawan Daura was a reminiscent of the era of a former Director General of the defunct National Security Organization, Lawal Rafindadi, who served under President Muhammadu Buhari as military head of state.
‎Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, said this when he hosted the Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
Secondus said the operatives of the DSS on Friday invaded the Government House in the hope of kidnapping the governor.

“‎Let me alert this nation that there was a civilian coup d’état in Akwa-Ibom State where the Department of State Security, headed by Lawan Daura, invaded the Government House in Akwa-Ibom, ransacked the entire Government House, looking for the governor (Udom Emmanuel) to kidnap.
The alleged invasion, according to Fayose, amounts to authoritarian and despotic governance in a democratic era.
He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to call the DSS Director General, Lawal Daura, to order accusing him of dragging Nigeria back to the era of military dictatorship.

Wonders shall never end! So Fayose could make this statement purportedly in defense of democracy upon all the undemocratic assertion of power against the then APC led House of Assembly in Ekiti State.
