EDO: INEC declares APC winner of Etsako West, Central

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the Saturday, March 9, House of Assembly election in Etsako West 1, and Central constituencies of Edo State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission declared the results this Sunday.

In Etsako Central, Mr Ahmed Waziri was announced winner by the returning officer, Professor Daniel Olarenwaju.

Waziri polled 12,688 votes to defeat Mr Boi Donald of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 5 ,431 votes.

According to Olarenwaju, 49,297 were registered voters in the area but only 19,293 cast their votes while 212 votes were voided.

In Etsako West Constituency 1, Mr Gani Audu of the APC polled 9,804 votes to defeat his closest rival, Dada Abubakar of the PDP, who scored 8,395 votes.

Announcing the result on Sunday in Auchi , the Returning Officer, Professor Augustine Dokpesi said the constituency had a total of 84,980 registered voters with 19,293 votes cast and 822 voided votes.
