Ekiti council accountant shot dead by gunmen, 2 others abducted

Pandemonium struck along the Ikere-Ise Road in Ekiti State when unknown gunmen opened fire and killed an Ekiti State Council accountant.

The victim identified as Mr Abayomi Ajayi (the Accountant of the Emure Local Government Area of Ekiti State) was on his way home with his colleagues when he was attacked and killed by the gunmen.

Reports say the assailants also abducted two employees of the council namely; Dr Fashina, the Coordinator of the state Primary Health Care Board and Pastor Onaade, the Administrative Officer.

A source in the know who declined to be named said; “I cannot really say how it happened, but the kidnappers have contacted the families of the two council officials.

“They are demanding a ransom of N10m from each of the two families.”

The incident has been confirmed by Mr Caleb Ikechukwu, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Ekiti State Police Command, who infomed that investigations into the matter has commenced to fish out the killers.
