EKITI PDP PRIMARY: Tough battle for Fayose’s anointed as Olujimi steps down for Adeyeye

Ekiti Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary is moving on well with a winner expected to emerge possibly before the end of today.

Meanwhile, the senator representing Ekiti South, Abiodun Olujimi, has stepped down for a former Minister of State for Works, Prince Dayo Adeyeye.

The senator, who noted that she had to sacrifice her ambition for peace, progress and stability of the party, called on her supporters to vote for Adeyeye, who she said had all it takes to help the party emerged victorious at the coming July 14, governorship election in the state.

The sudden twist in the political calculation makes the battle tougher for the state deputy governor, Professor Kolapo Olusola, who is Governor Ayodele Fayose’s anointed candidate.

The primary election is currently holding at Uncle Eagle Hall Event Centre in Ado-Ekiti with the full presence of armed combined teams of policemen as well as Department of State Services (DSS) and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) personnel.

Accreditation for the 2,092 delegates from the 177 wards in the state, started around 11:30 am after initial delay by a downpour.

With Senator Olujimi bowing out, the battle is now between Olusola, and Adeyeye.
