Iwobi took the place of Gyfil Sigurdsson in the 61st minute of the highly entertaining encounter.

He impressed in the 30 minutes he played, but goals by Wesley Moraes and Anwar El Ghazi in the 22nd and 95th minutes respectively secured victory for Aston Villa.

Although Iwobi added his quota in the fight as he hit the post, the 23-year-old missed to score on his debut for his new club.

Everton will host Wolverhampton Wanderers in their next league game.
