Ex-Airforce Chief, Tony Omenyi, jailed 7 years for fraud

A retired Air Vice Marshal, Tony Omenyi, has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment by the

the Federal High Court on Thursday over money laundering charges involving the sum of N136m

which he received from a contractor while serving with the Nigerian Air Force.

Justice Nnamdi Dimgba, who delivered judgment on each of the three counts levelled against the convict, sentenced him to seven years imprisonment after ruling that the sentences would run concurrently.

Dimgba also ordered that Huzee Nigeria Limited, the company where the convict was reported to have received the sum of N136m from the contractor, SkyExperts Nigeria Limited, as well as the sum of N62m recovered from the convicts by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC be surrendered to the Federal Government.
