Ex-militants petition EFCC, ICPC on Kuku

In from Ali Smart …
The once cordial relationship among ex-militants and their former benefactor, Mr. Kingsley Kuku has gone sour as the former warlords are preparing for a showdown with the latter.
At issue, Ripples learnt, is that over 38 ex-militants who went on a trip to South Africa for Skill Acquisition Programme have since petitioned the Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) to probe the Amnesty Office under the leadership of Mr. Kuku to account for the nonpayment of salaries to the beneficiaries from 2010 till date.
In a statement signed on behalf of the aggrieved ex-militants by Commander Freedom Binaebi, Gen. Don Dickson, former Secretary to Tompolo’s ex-militants’ camp and Gen. Innocent Adagbabri, they alleged that Kuku and the Century Energy Nigeria Limited connived to defraud them of their payment.
They said, “We were initially taken to South Africa by Timi Alaibe before Mr. Kingsley Kuku took over. From when Kuku took over in 2010 till date, not a dime has been paid to us by Kingsley Kuku or the company we were handed over to by the federal government to provide us job.

“We were trained in South Africa and were later given to Century Energy Company Nigeria for employment but neither the company nor Mr. Kingsley Kuku made any payments to us. We are calling on EFCC and ICPC to probe them so that we can get our payments.
“Thirty-Eight of us were supposed to be paid N65,000 each monthly, from 2010 till date but no kobo had come to us. We had initially complained to Chief Government Ekpemukpolo, alias Tompolo and Chief Asari Dokubo to intervene but all were to no avail, and now we want EFCC and ICPC to invite them to tell us when they are paying us our stipends.
“We are also calling on President Muhammadu Buhari and the head of Amnesty Programme, retired Brig-Gen. Paul Boroh to come to our rescue as we pledge our unalloyed support to the President and resolved to work with the Buhari-led government in ensuring a peaceful Niger Delta in particular and Nigeria in general.”
