FAYOSE: OBJ is a failure, always shedding crocodile tears

BIAFRA: Obasanjo says Python Dance not solution to quell agitation

If there is anyone who feels that former President Olusegun Obasanjo is a serial failure in government, it is Ayodele Fayose, the incumbent governor of Ekiti State.

Fayose, who is also Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, described Obasanjo as a man who is too full of himself to acknowledge the contributions of others to national development.

Fayose was reacting to Obasanjo’s recent claims that his generation would be remembered for uniting Nigeria though it had failed woefully in delivering other expectations.

He cautioned the elder-statesman to desist from branding his contemporaries as all failures while he was the biggest culprit in dragging the country backward.

In a statement credited to him but signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, Fayose said, “There is much suffering in the land. The people are hungry. Yet, one of those responsible for this unsavoury state of affairs relishes in adding insult to the people’s injury. He makes statements that are not only reckless but also untrue.
“Obasanjo, truly, has failed this country many times over but not all members of his generation failed this country. There are shinning lights in that generation that have served the nation well.”

“How about Emeka Anyaoku, Wole Soyinka, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, Prof. Ayodele Awojobi? The list is endless and they are to be found in all the nooks and crannies of this country who belong in the same generation as Obasanjo and who have done this country proud,” he queried.

Accusing Obasanjo of being very pretentious, Fayose slammed him saying, “It is too late in the day for him to now cry over other countries that have passed Nigeria by. These are mere crocodile tears when we realise that no other Nigerian leader had the opportunities that Obasanjo had to make this country great but he bungled them all.”

He added, “He (Obasanjo) should speak for himself and not rope his entire generation into his misadventure in governance. Here is a man who neither recognised nor encouraged any star except himself. He must shoot them down or disparage them. For him, Obafemi Awolowo was not patriotic; MKO Abiola was not the messiah Nigeria needed; Tinubu was a rascal; Jonathan was not good; and President Muhammadu Buhari did not understand economics. Only Obasanjo is good. Only Obasanjo fought and won the Civil War. Only Obasanjo understands everything, from economics to military and to foreign affairs.”

Fayose is widely considered the greatest critic of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government. He had said not too long ago that God was preparing the stage to make him the President of Nigeria.

He is currently being investigated for economic crimes by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) but says that he had committed no crimes but is being hounded by the state for his political views.

Damn! I salute Fayose for calling a spade a spade in this case. Obasanjo is a useless man Nigerians should not celebrate for any reason, he his the genesis of our problems in this country, yet, he remains unapologetic for all his wrongdoings.

You are mumu. If you call obasanjo a useless man then fayose is the most useless man and your father is the worst useless man.

I pity Fayose for going all out on Obasanjo, as a stakeholder that Fayose is, is he supposed to be the one to call Obasanjo a pretentious man? He should remember the party he’s enjoying now, Obasanjo was one of the founding fathers.

When a child is about to be disgraced, he tends to wallow his mouth to hurl insults at the Elder. Ekiti indigene should take that proverb to fayose. His rain of shame is forming up already and will soon fall.

Nothing can happen to fayose , so no one should threaten him at all.
Fayose is as bold as a lion.
