Gunmen kill 3 policemen, 2 others in Lagos, kidnap 4 telcos staff

Three policemen and two community leaders were on Thursday killed in Lagos by daredevil armed robbers.

This is coming a day after heavily armed gunmen killed two soldiers in Rivers State,

The incident took place at Oko-Asagun village in Ibeju Lekki Local Government Area of the state after the gunmen reportedly arrived from Ode-Omi creek, a border town between Lagos and Ogun states.

The gun men it was also learnt abducted four staff of two Telecommunication companies.

The unfortunate event was confirmed by Lagos State Police Command through the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, who disclosed that the slain force men were taken by surprise.

Earlier on Wednesday, heavily armed gunmen killed two soldiers in Rivers State while three others sustained gunshot injuries.

Abubakar Abdullahi, a spokesperson for the Army, who disclosed this in a statement said, “Our troops deployed at Creek 6 Houseboat Cawthorne Channel while responding to a distress call of sea robbers attack around Ijawkiri general area engaged heavily armed sea robbers.

“Unfortunately, two gallant soldiers exhibited highest point of patriotism by paying supreme price, while three others sustained gunshot injuries.”
