Hours after Obasanjo’s explosive letter, Tinubu, Akande meet Buhari, keep mum

A few hours after the bombshell letter of former president Olusegun Obasanjo to President Muhammadu Buhari in which he listed several failings of the current government and urged Buhari not to seek reelection, two major chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the South-West, Bola Tinubu and Bisi Akande, held a meeting with the president.

The meeting held inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Tinubu and Akande, who met with the president for about an hour, declined to speak to State House correspondents after the meeting.

Both leaders, who arrived at the presidential villa around 3:50pm, left at 4:50pm.

The national chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, had led the party chieftains during the dinner.
