How teenage Nigerian school girls emerged winners of int’l mobile app competition
A team of teenage girls representing Nigeria have emerged winners of the 2018 Technovation world pitch junior division in San Francisco, USA.
Team Save-A-Soul, a group of five brilliant girls from Anambra State which includes; Promise Nnalue, Jessica Osita, Nwabuaku Ossai, Adaeze Onuigbo and Vivian Okoye developed a mobile application called ‘FD Detector’ to tackle the problem of fake pharmaceutical products in the country.
The teenage girls defeated other teams from the United States of America (USA), Spain, Turkey, Uzbekistan and China to win the world pitch junior division.

The young girls who were selected from 2,000 mobile app developers to represent Africa at the world pitch also emerged the first Junior Nigerian team to emerge among the finalists who participated in the world pitch.
Finalists were pitching for seed funding and scholarships and more than $50,000 USD was awarded across the teams
By emerging winners, the teenage girls will now be selected among other finalists who will be pitching their app to investors in Silicon Valley, California.
