ICC set to pass judgment on Kenyan VP
William Ruto Kenya’s Vice-President is about to find out whether a crime against humanity case against him will be ruled in his favour or not by judges at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The embattled VP faces murder, deportation and persecution charges during the violence that broke out following the elections in 2007 which saw about 1,200 loosing their lives.
Mr Ruto denies all the allegations and his lawyers want the case in the ICC to be thrown out due to a lack of evidence.
The court case against Mr Ruto who is one of the most senior politicians to be tried by the ICC has been dogged by repeated setbacks in recent past.
