In from Nifemi Daniel …
Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Sunday Oliseh, has stated that Watford England striker, Odion Ighalo is still in his plans despite his exclusion from the list of 18 foreign based players he invited for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Tafia Stars of Tanzania in Dar es Salaam on September 5.
Oliseh said he left the Watford of England striker out because he could not invite three players for a position.
Some Nigerians had reacted negatively to the omission of the Watford striker who was on target in his club’s 2-2 draw at Everton in the English Premier League penultimate weekend.

Oliseh said: “Emmanuel Emenike of Al Ain, UAE, and Anthony Ujah who is playing top flight football with Werder Bremen of Germany are better options. For Emenike, he is a Nations Cup gold medalist and a heavyweight while Ujah is with German top division side.”
He however added that Ighalo is in his plan for the Nations Cup and World Cup qualifiers.
The coach who trained with 14 home based players in camp was impressed with the form exhibited by the players promising to change Eagles playing style.
“People have been asking why did we invite 23 home based players when we knew we would still invite 18 foreign based. They are forgetting that we have to keep the camp going on till the end of the month when the foreign ones will arrive.
“We will, in the process, discover the good ones that will compete favourably well with the foreign-based professionals,” he added.
