Reports reaching Ripples has it that the immediate past Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, has been invited and is being questioned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection with the 2014 tragic recruitment into the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) that claimed more than 16 lives across different recruitment centres in the country.

Moro was reportedly taken into the EFCC custody on Monday at the headquarters of the anti-graft agency in Abuja.

It will be recalled that over 700,772 applicants paid the sum of 1000 each to write a test for an employment slot of 4,000.

Confirming the development, an official of the EFCC said a team of investigators have already begun interrogating him.

Another EFCC official said: “It will be a dis-service, to sweep under the carpet, the job scandal allegation against the former Minister, which led to the death of innocent job seekers. So, operatives have to invite him for interrogation.”
