INEC to settle dates for non-concluded elections Thursday
Suspended rerun elections in Rivers, Imo, Kogi and Kano States, will get dates on Thursday, the independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has said.
This was disclosed on Wednesday by the Chairman of INEC,  Prof.  Mahmood Yakubu, at the opening of the second quarterly meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners, RECs ‎in Abuja.
According to Yakubu, the commission was already consulting with critical stakeholders, including leaders of political parties and security agencies, in the affected states.
He however said the commission would be having a meeting with leaders of political parties in Abuja on Thursday before arriving at the dates for the rerun elections.
The rerun elections in the states were suspended by INEC due to outbreak of violence.
According to the INEC boss, the rerun elections in the four states would be conducted before July 31.
