JUST IN… RUSSIAN INVASION: 450 evacuated Nigerians arrive Abuja

The Federal Government on Friday evacuated 450 Nigerians, mostly students, who fled Ukraine due to the Russian invasion, from Romania.

The evacuees were delivered by a Max Air aircraft which landed at the private jet terminal of the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport, Abuja.

Government officials were at the airport to receive the evacuees, who are expected to undergo documentation after which they will head home and self-isolate in line with the COVID-19 protocols.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Federal Government approved the sum of $8.5m for the evacuation as announced in a statement released by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Zubairu Dada.
