The Emir of Rano, Kano State, Alhaji Tafida Abubakar Ila II, is dead.
The monarch died at a hospital in Kano in Saturday.
He was 74.
A member of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Kabir Alhassan Rururm confirmed the monarch’s death to journalists Saturday evening.

The Emir was reportedly sick and admitted in a hospital in the community before he later died.
Rano is one of the four newly created Emirates in Kano State.
