KOGI: Corp member, accomplice arrested for breaking ATM

The long arm of the law has caught up with two suspects who attempted to break an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) of a new generation bank with the intention to steal the cash in Kogi State.

According to the Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, Wilson Inalegwu, unfortunately, one of the suspects, Akah Tersoo, is a member of the National Youth Service Corps serving in Kogi.

Inalegwu said the corper and his accomplice Godwin Idih were both arrested at a branch of Ecobank on Ganaja Junction, Lokoja by cops who noticed their suspicious movements while on patrol duty.

The CP said both suspects were caught on April 26, 2017, at about 2 .30am while breaking the ATM belonging to Ecobank with a digger and an axe.

He said, “My men, who were on a patrol duty, noticed suspicious movements at a branch of Ecobank on Ganaja Junction, Lokoja, and stopped to observe.

“On close examination, they saw two individuals who were later identified as Godwin Idih and Akah Tersoo, breaking the ATM with a digger and an axe. The team promptly intercepted and arrested the suspects with the exhibits.

“But sadly, one of the suspects is a serving corps member,” the CP added.
