LA LIGA: Madrid on course for title, Barca keep top spot
Spanish giants Real Madrid have taken another step towards the La Liga title as Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice to give his side a comfortable victory against Sevilla on Sunday.
Real got ahead in the game through Nacho’s controversial free-kick on 10 minutes, before Ronaldo pounced on a rebound to double their lead thirteen minutes later.
Sevilla’s Stevan Jovetic replied after the break, but Ronaldo’s sensational second strike, and Toni Kroos’ late goal sealed victory for the Catalans at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, Madrid remain in second place behind league leaders Barcelona who beat Las Palmas 4-1 at the same time.
The reigning champions keep hold of top spot courtesy of their head-to-head advantage and goal difference.
But Real, who play Celta Vigo on May 17, have a game in hand on their rivals, and need four points from their final two matches to lift their first title since 2012.
