Liverpool draw Bayern in UCL knockouts; Man Utd to battle PSG

Last season’s UEFA Champions League finalists, Liverpool have been drawn against Bayern Munich in the round of 16 of the competition this season.

Liverpool, who got to this stage after a miracle 1-0 win over Napoli last week, will need to beat the Bundesliga champions to maintain their hopes of bettering their last season’s feat.

Another interesting outcome of the draw, which held on Monday, is the pair of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.

The English side have never met the Ligue champions in a competitive game.

Meanwhile, defending champions, Real Madrid were drawn against French Ligue 1 side, Olympique Lyon.

Premier League champions Manchester City and Tottenham face Bundesliga sides, Schalke and Borussia Dortmund respectively.

Schalke v Manchester City

Atletico Madrid v Juventus

Manchester United v Paris St-Germain

Tottenham v Borussia Dortmund

Lyon v Barcelona

Roma v Porto

Ajax v Real Madrid

Liverpool v Bayern Munich

Group winners will be away from home in the first legs.

The first legs will take place on 12-13 and 19-20 February, with the return fixtures on 5-6 and 12-13 March.
