Liverpool to sign, loan out Awoniyi

English Premier League club Liverpool have concluded plans to sign Nigeria U-23 striker Taiwo Awoniyi and will be loaned out to a club in either Belgium or Holland.
Awoniyi is heading for Liverpool ahead of interests from several top clubs like AS Monaco and FC Porto as well as some wide-off-the-mark speculations.
The striker is due for a trip in England for a routine medical after which he will be shipped out on loan to a club in either Belgium or Holland.
Awoniyi will be 18 on Wednesday and that will allow him to now sign a professional contract.

However, Liverpool could not apply for work permit for him using the special talent clause because the player has been busy with the country’s Olympic team in qualifiers for both the All Africa Games and the CAF U23 Championship.
“It’s almost too late to apply for a work permit for him using the special talent clause because he has been with the U23 team and as such he will go on loan to a club either in Belgium or Holland in the first instance,” a top source revealed.
Awoniyi has also represented Nigeria at U-17 and U-20 levels.
