LMC reschedules El-Kanemi, Heartland tie for Saturday

The League Management Company has rescheduled the Nigeria Professional Football League game between El-Kanemi Warriors and Heartland to Saturday, September 17.

The game earlier scheduled for last weekend was postponed to Thursday after the visitors failed to get a flight to convey them to Maiduguri for the game.

However, the game suffered another setback after an accident involving Heartland, leaving five of the first team players injured.

In a tweet on the official handle of the LMC, @LMCNPFL, it was posted that: “El-Kanemi vs Heartland MD 35 now Saturday, 17th September. Rescheduled again to allow the Owerri side time to replace five injured players.”

The chief medical director at the Maiduguri Specialist Hospital had earlier ruled six Heartland players, who were badly injured, out of the game prompting the LMC to come ups with their verdict.

This followed an analysis of the ex-ray report on five of the players and physical examination of the sixth player, Ebele Obi, whose case appeared to be worse than others.

The injured players are team captain, Chinedu Efugh, Macmarcel Obioha, Kingsley Ajaero, Owusu Anthony and Chidiebere Ajoku.
